The location was exceptionally picturesque, with a definite sense of stepping back in time to a quieter and less frantic age. It is the perfect base to explore the stunning Monfrague National Park, which can be reached in less than 30 minutes by road. We were booked in a superior room, which was very spacious with an excellent bathroom. Stylistically, the furnishings were in keeping with the ancient building and there was a beautiful view over the courtyard with hills behind. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of fresh local produce on offer and cooked options on request. The menu for dinner and the wine options again highlighted local specialities and the dishes were invariably presented to a very high standard. If you keep an eye out above the central courtyard, you may see kestrels flitting between the towers.

This was our second stay at Plasencia Parador. The reception staff was lovely and so helpful. The room was good and quiet, though the last time we stayed there, the room was much nicer and bigger. Breakfast was good, as expected, really. We loved the little bamboo tongs we were given, to serve ourselves, due to Covid 19 measures. The beds and pillows were super comfy. Parking is excellent and I was given excellent instructions by the reception ladies who were very helpful. I was impressed by the protocols observed by the first aider by the pool. Every day at the same time he checked ph levels and other chemical tests, using proper equipment. A very efficient, well-mannered, and meticulous young gentleman. I would stay here again and again.

A beautiful old monastery right in the centre of Plasencia with very friendly and efficient staff. I spent just one night here with two friends in a pleasant, quiet triple room. Great towels, comfortable bed, nice furnishings and well functioning air conditioning for when it was 38 degrees outside! Breakfasting and eating in a parador can be expensive but luckily we found the restaurant/bar Bari nearby. It was so hot we only made it as far as the Bari, which is the first place you come to when you go out the front door, and fortunately the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner there. I would love to go back and stay at the Parador in Plasencia when the temperatures are more civilized.

It was the most beautiful location with outstanding and wonderful service. I ate in the square so cannot comment on the food but the bar service was very good and the rooms outstanding. I cannot thank the reception staff enough for their exemplary service and the great sadness was not meeting Raquel with whom I had communicated by email and who was an Angel with the care she took to make my reservation and stay world class. Also the perfect stop half way down through Spain on anyone’s travels to the south. Well worth the effort of going off piste and ignore the average surrounds of Plasencia the Parador and all that surrounds it is in the old quarter and is stunning.

The signage for the car park useless, the building beautiful. Room exquisite with a little balcony overlooking the pool and spying the storks on 5he chimneys. As for facilities! We had driven for 9 hours from France and were starving but needed to get changed first and were told the cafe bar was open for food until 4pm. At 3.45 we tried to order but no chance. The next food service was 8.30pm. We tried to eat in the town but that was 9pm. We went to bed starving. Breakfast next morning was just ok. Dried up pastries and sweet bread for toast.
